Woolbabe Sleeping Bag Review - Frugal Organized Mama

Woolbabe Sleeping Bag Review... and Giveaway!

There's something about putting your baby in soft, snuggly, warm bedding. Having them drift off to sleep. And knowing that they aren't kicking off those blankets in 5 minutes... I know you're with me!

So this week, arrived a beautiful sleeping bag in the mail for Isabelle from Woolbabe. *Full disclaimer that this was provided at no-cost for review... But I did used to have this exact bag, so total love and keenness here!*

Stay with me - even if you are low on money and don't want to buy one new or at full price... I have suggestions for every direction shortly 🙂

As we opened the parcel, the first thing I saw were the domes at the top of the special bag it comes in... I inwardly giggled. You see, I got a bag with a zip down the front... which doesn't have domes on the shoulders - The side zip does have the domes. And I remember those domes well because THEY STAY DONE UP. And just as I figured, that's where Isabelle got stuck and couldn't get into it! Rescuing her, we continued in to find the sleeping bag.

Actually, no. I lie... The first thing I saw was the domes. The first thing Isabelle saw? That would be the lollies that came with it.Thanks Woolbabe - you made her month!

Just as I'd hoped! Stunning red and white strips, warm and snuggly... and more importantly, she wanted to wear it.

Looking close though, there was one key thing I recognised... The sewing quality is UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. And how cool to get a room thermometer with it, instructions and more.

So you are wondering how night one went? Well... Let me explain....

I LOVED this bag, Isabelle loved this bag. But, come 8pm... The "Actually. Go. To. Sleep." time? Off it came! I recognised what I realistically knew, Isabelle isn't a sleeping bag girl... and she never has been. She's a soft fluffy fleecy blankets in her bed ONLY girl.

And that's ok.

But, it wasn't *that* long ago, I was buying the exact same bag for my boy. Yup, Woolbabe 2-4 yo size.

Why? Cos he was a sleeping bag boy through and through. There was nothing he wanted more than to be tucked into a sleeping bag every single night from the time he stopped being swaddled til around 4 years old. I think even now at soon to be 6 he'd jump at the chance! We haven't finished night toilet training this little man, so he's not going to be the special recipient of this bag... (But if you were wondering, YES, it even fits my 5.5 year old!)

Isabelle - who's 3 years old

Jesiah - who's 5.5

Woolbabe

He's a standard length, slim boy who's 5.5 🙂 This is why you don't want to size up if you have a 1.5 year old still! 🙂

Woolbabe sleeping bag benefits?

  • Merino filling and cotton lining - This just feels like bliss!
  • Warmest bags in NZ many mum's say 🙂
  • 30% Merino and 70% Cotton outside layer
  • Available in 3 seasons or a winter weight bag.
  • And maybe... CUTE is a great reason too 😉

On a budget?

Like so many others... I know people are on a budget! Let me be honest... I'm not Frugal Organized Mama for nothing - I am too! When Jesiah was little, I was seriously restricted (the first sleeping bag was secondhand from Grandma... and we lived in a caravan!) So, here's some ideas for you.

  1. Check out trademe - making sure you get one warm enough for your wee one and your location. If it's the first child, buying a better quality or a newer (or new) one can be better to not have it wear out by time you've had your kids 🙂
  2. Buy one on a sale - And we'll have a 30% off code shortly for my followers - Keep an eye out! - This can be best bet if you want more than one kid and only starting out with kiddies 🙂
  3. Make one if you are a crafty type and have things like that around the house
  4. Keep an eye out at the op-shops
  5. Try one from a friend before you commit to buying one - Mr 5, GREAT investment... Miss 3, not at all!

I think there's only been one disappointed with the bag so far... And that's that it doesn't come in size 'adult'!

...If you are still reading... It's because you wanted the giveaway right? 😉 No need to worry! I will be posting it at Frugal Organized Mama facebook page this weekend!
